Learner drivers and motor-cyclists will face more theory test questions from 03 September when the pass marks are driven up to improve road safety. 50 questions in 57 minutes and a pass score of 43 is the requirement. Imagine the improvement to road safety if all drivers were to complete this on a three year cycle.
Company drivers dying in work-related road traffic collisions could prompt the first corporate manslaughter prosecutions once the new Act comes into force in April experts predict.
A British Safety Council survey reveals that 62% of employees had received little or no Health & Safety training. Annual costs for compensation and accidents is £250 per second, with cost to the overall economy being £1000 per second. The BSC believes that simple basic health & safety training should be given to every employee.
